There is someone in my life who means the world to me. Wherever we are, we watch the birds together.
When my life was changing at a rapid pace I watched the birds outside the window where I worked. I watched birds when I drove to class and when I walked downtown during my lunch break. They were a symbol of freedom and happiness and endurance. They gave me something outside myself and my stress to focus on. When the dust settled, my life was developing into something wonderful, and I now had someone loving and considerate and good to share it all with.
This design started as a pencil drawing for him. Cardinals are strikingly beautiful, and red is a color that symbolizes love. More than that, though, they are a bird that lives up north all winter. No matter how cold and blustery it gets, the Cardinal will stick through the hard winter.
